These General Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of the website student-insurance.com and the insurance intermediary services provided by [Company Name] ("we," "us," "our").
We act exclusively as an insurance intermediary (Versicherungsvermittler) in accordance with ยง 34d GewO. We are not an insurance company and do not underwrite insurance policies ourselves.
2. Services
Our services include:
- Providing information about health insurance options for international students in Germany
- Comparing insurance plans from licensed insurance providers
- Facilitating the application and conclusion of insurance contracts between customers and insurance providers
- Assisting with administrative matters related to your insurance
3. Contract Formation
The insurance contract is concluded between you and the respective insurance provider โ not with us. By submitting an application through our platform:
- You complete the online application form with your personal details
- We forward your application to the selected insurance provider
- The insurance provider reviews your application and decides on acceptance
- Upon acceptance, you receive your insurance certificate and policy documents directly from the provider
Our presentation of insurance plans does not constitute a binding offer. The binding offer is made by you when you submit your application.
4. Remuneration & Commissions
In the interest of transparency: We receive commissions (Provisionen) from insurance providers for successfully intermediated contracts. These commissions are included in the insurance premium โ you do not pay any additional fees for using our services.
Upon request, we will disclose the nature and amount of remuneration we receive from the insurance provider for your specific contract.
5. Your Obligations
You agree to:
- Provide truthful and complete information in your application
- Notify us and the insurance provider of any changes to your circumstances that may affect your insurance
- Review the insurance terms and conditions provided by the insurance provider before concluding a contract
6. Limitation of Liability
We are liable without limitation for damages caused by intent or gross negligence. For slight negligence, we are only liable for breach of material contractual obligations (cardinal obligations), limited to foreseeable, typically occurring damages.
We do not guarantee the accuracy of information provided by third-party insurance providers. The insurance provider's terms and conditions take precedence over any information presented on our website.
7. Right of Withdrawal
As this is a distance contract (Fernabsatzvertrag), you have the right to withdraw from the intermediary agreement within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period begins on the day the contract is concluded. To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must send a clear statement (e.g., by email to hello@student-insurance.com) of your decision to withdraw.
Please note: The right of withdrawal for the insurance contract itself is governed by the insurance provider's terms and may differ.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence remain applicable.
10. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is or becomes invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
11. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be published on this page. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance.
