Annual premium for the FSU Student Health Insurance Plan (Aetna) is approximately $1,700–$2,200 USD for the 2025 academic year. This is billed directly to your student account unless you successfully waive.
Waiver deadline
Submit your waiver request before the deadline above. Universities rarely accept late waivers — if you miss it, you are auto-enrolled in SHIP and billed the full premium.
Waiver requirements
Your alternative plan must meet all of the following criteria to pass the Florida State University waiver review:
- Comparable US-based coverage
- Annual benefit of at least $500,000
- Leon County, FL network access
- Mental health and prescription coverage
- Valid for the full enrollment period
