The 2026-27 premium for the FSU Student Health Insurance Plan (Aetna Student Health) is $2,758–$2,797 a year (student only). It is billed to your student account unless your waiver is approved.
Annual student-only premiums: domestic $2,758 (Fall $1,050 + Spring/Summer $1,708), international $2,797 (Fall $1,065 + Spring/Summer $1,732).
Waiver deadline
Submit your waiver request before the deadline above. Universities rarely accept late waivers — if you miss it, you are auto-enrolled in SHIP and billed the full premium.
Waiver requirements
Florida State University does not allow waivers for most international students. Review the exceptions below and budget for the full SHIP premium.
- From Fall 2026 international students must buy the FSU plan; waivers no longer granted
- Exception: non-degree/transient F/J students with coverage meeting Florida BOG Regulation 6.009
- Exception: State Department-sponsored J-1 students in a DoS plan meeting BOG 6.009
