Yes. You're covered for visits up to 3 months back home (country of origin), plus trips of up to 31 days to Australia, Fiji, the Cook Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Niue, Vanuatu, Tahiti, Bali and Lombok.
The NZ Student Plan is no longer valid once you change visa type. Contact Uni-Care to switch to the Visitor Plan or Australasian Plan for the rest of your stay.
Yes. OrbitProtect's International Student plans are designed to meet the Code of Practice for Pastoral Care of International Students, the standard Immigration NZ uses to validate student visa insurance.
After buying a Prime or Lite policy you receive an OrbitPay card you can use like an EFTPOS card at registered NZ GPs and pharmacies. The provider charges OrbitProtect directly, so you don't pay upfront and don't submit a claim.
For 2026, Lite is NZD $669/year and Prime is NZD $786/year (verified on the OrbitProtect 'Premium changes' page). Pricing is for ages 5–60; older students get a manual quote.
