Annual premium for the Harvard University Student Health Insurance Plan (HUSHP) is approximately $4,800–$5,400 USD for the 2025 academic year. This is billed directly to your student account unless you successfully waive.
Waiver deadline
Submit your waiver request before the deadline above. Universities rarely accept late waivers — if you miss it, you are auto-enrolled in SHIP and billed the full premium.
Waiver requirements
Your alternative plan must meet all of the following criteria to pass the Harvard University waiver review:
- Comparable coverage meeting Massachusetts state QSHIP minimum standards
- Medical evacuation coverage of at least $50,000
- Repatriation of remains coverage of at least $25,000
- Annual deductible under $1,500
- Coverage valid for the entire enrollment period
- US-based claims administration preferred
