Annual premium for the ASU Student Health Insurance Plan (Aetna) is approximately $2,000–$2,600 USD for the 2025 academic year. This is billed directly to your student account unless you successfully waive.
Waiver deadline
Submit your waiver request before the deadline above. Universities rarely accept late waivers — if you miss it, you are auto-enrolled in SHIP and billed the full premium.
Waiver requirements
Your alternative plan must meet all of the following criteria to pass the Arizona State University waiver review:
- US-based plan or internationally recognized carrier with US network
- Annual benefit of at least $500,000
- Maricopa County, AZ network access
- Mental health and prescription coverage
- Valid for the full enrollment term
