IKK classic costs €147.23/month for students under 23 (or with children). Students aged 23+ without children pay €152.36/month due to the additional nursing care surcharge. This breaks down as: €87.38 base health insurance + €29.07 Zusatzbeitrag (3.40%) + €30.78 nursing care (or €35.91 if childless and 23+). The Zusatzbeitrag is unchanged from 2025.

IKK classic's English support is minimal. There is no dedicated English-language hotline, and the website and most written materials are in German. Staff at some branches may speak English, but this is not guaranteed. International students without German skills should consider TK or KKH, which offer dedicated English services.
