Cost if you take SHIP
The 2026-27 premium for the UO Student Health Benefits Plan (PacificSource) is $3,888 a year (student only). It is billed to your student account unless your waiver is approved.
Billed as $1,296 per term for fall, winter and spring (3 x $1,296 = $3,888).
Waiver deadline
Submit your waiver request before the deadline above. Universities rarely accept late waivers — if you miss it, you are auto-enrolled in SHIP and billed the full premium.
Waiver requirements
According to University of Oregon, your alternative plan must meet these criteria (summarised — the official list is binding):
- Coverage through the entire academic term
- Deductible $500 or less per accident/illness per year; coinsurance 20% or less
- Treats all University Health Services claims as in-network
- Medical evacuation of $50,000+ and repatriation of $25,000+
- No financial caps on essential benefits incl. mental health, maternity, Rx
- No exclusions for pre-existing, sports or mental health conditions
