Cost if you take SHIP
Annual premium for the UO Student Health Insurance Plan (PacificSource) is approximately $1,900–$2,500 USD for the 2025 academic year. This is billed directly to your student account unless you successfully waive.
Waiver deadline
Submit your waiver request before the deadline above. Universities rarely accept late waivers — if you miss it, you are auto-enrolled in SHIP and billed the full premium.
Waiver requirements
Your alternative plan must meet all of the following criteria to pass the University of Oregon waiver review:
- Comparable US-based coverage
- Annual benefit of at least $500,000
- Lane County, OR network access
- Mental health and prescription coverage
- Valid for the full enrollment term

- ISO Student Health Insurance — US-based claims, affordable monthly rates, widely accepted
- IMG Patriot Exchange — designed for F-1/J-1 students, meets most ISSS minimum standards
- Student Secure (WorldTrips) — competitive pricing, US network, frequent waiver approvals
